"What legacy are the Nigeria leader's leaving for the Nigerian Youths?".

  -By Adegbola Gbenga Olumko.

Nigerian's faces a number of complex challenges related to the cause of Bad leadership and lack of leadership mentality. (both the Educated ones and illiterate leaders in Nigeria).
I have written articles about "How global economy revolution started and it's effect in every country especially in Africa, Africans mentality towards the Americans and Europeans Aliens in Africa Continent and political leadership corruptions through religions". But now, i will be writing about the Legacy the Nigerian Leaders are leaving for the Nigerian youths. I will be talking about the Good Nigeria leaders and the corrupt Nigeria leaders.

I know some readers will be wondering why my article is mainly on Africa countries Especially Nigeria. Nigeria is the Africa continent's largest economy and oil producer, but the conditions and challenges  in Nigeria make me write an Article in my idea and knowledge to face the government because the Nigerian leaders are not showing good example to the youths.

There are many unresolved problems in Nigeria today, Nigeria has all the world problems Such as Corruption, Inflation, Mismanagement, stealing by governments and pastors, fraud etc. But the issue of the upsurge of corruption is troubling. And the damages it has done to the polity are astronomical. The menace of corruption leads to slow movement of files in offices, police extortion tollgates and slow traffics on the highways, port congestion, queues at passport offices and gas stations, ghost workers syndrome, election irregularities, among others, it is believed by many in the society that corruption is the bane of Nigeria.
Corruptions is not only about stealing funds, but it is about putting bad people in prime positions who have neither the passion or the qualification to do the job. the form of corruption is crippling Nigeria. In Nigeria governments, we get a department full of village friends either from the Village North, south or East. None with the qualifications to do the post other than being clan member. the price of  nepotism causes a completer  failure of the country to develop. Corruption is worsen than murder. It kills more than warfare, it takes lands and money to build an hospital and buy private jets, condemning thousand of people  over multiply generations to die of sickness and diseases.

But some Nigerian kings, pastors and politicians speaking on the Leaders saying they gives hopes and love the country. These are abstract terms, we must lean on something more concrete to measure a leader.
The misfortune in Nigeria is not that it's a poor country, this is a condition that is a product of history. the misfortune is that is Nigeria does not ruling classes dedicated to prevailing over the state of underdevelopment. Bad governance is not a principle predicament of lack of knowledge or infrastructure competence or even individual dictators. Nigeria is weakened by instruments of developments by because of the Illiterate rulers, not to mention people within and out of government ,are aggravated by goals that do not have slightest to do with the general good.

Nigeria is a country where 20% access 70% of the country wealth, as an example, would a 2% increase increase in 40 years really be written down as an acceptable  improvement?. if a leader has built 3 houses, where it had the potential  to have built 20 ( based on the country natural resources and human potential) is called progress then we seriously to ask what is this progress being measured against?  3% and 5% increase in prosperity in 1% of the population in the richest country in Africa is certainly not a good leader. A leader should not be the richest man in the country even his wife, where he can use his leadership to get even more wealth.

You will think with me and you will be wrong, that every Nigeria Leaders who comes from poverty and come into money would have empathy for those still trapped in the horrors of poverty isn't it?.  once these leaders get there mansions and expensive cars, then they are often the last person on earth to care about the poverty they escape. combined with vulgar wasting of money on everything materialistic they are more likely to kick the ladders down so that no other youths will be able to climb up.

"Incompetent Nigeria Leaders".

None of the Nigeria Leaders are Wise, Intelligent and well Expose, there is no Nigeria leaders who have said the right thing since Nigeria gain independence in 1960 and this lead our country into the wrong directions. Nigeria is unlike any other country in the world, has had most colourful romanticised ideologies from pan-Americanism to negritude but like i said Nigeria is having all problems in the world. When a Country leader makes a mistake , its the nation that suffer for the mistakes.
All Nigeria Leaders take decisions without counsel and input from the citizen, or after soliciting only for advice that will support their decision. Let's take India for Example, Every decision taken by the India Leaders will be on Television channels for debate before their leader can take the right decision and this is what makes India greater than Nigeria in economic growth and technologies improvement.
Nigerian leaders have surrounded themselves  with incompetent and unqualified subordinates with no good educational backgrounds because they feel threaten by the qualified and competent ones.

What legacy is the Nigeria Leaders leaving for the Nigerian Youths?

'JONATHAN LEGACY'

Mr. Jonathan is a PhD degree holder in Zoology from the university of Port Harcourt (But Former president Obasanjo says Even Mr Jonathan didn't complete his PhD, this means all Nigerian Leaders are Illiterates), he was born in 1957 in Niger Delta region, a Christian man from the Ijaw ethnic group. His family's trade with canoe making, he was a former educational inspector and environmental protection officer before going into politics in 1998. he was elected as a deputy governor in his home state in 1999 alongside Diepreye Alamieyeseigha who was named in as the governor of the state but Mr. Jonathan was serving his time without particular distinction, until his boss was impeached on corruption charges.

                                                         GoodLuck Ebele Jonathan

Mr. Jonathan took over power as a governor of Bayelsa state on 9th December 2005,After two years later he was hand picked by former Nigeria president Olusegun Obasanjo to run on the PDP's ticket as Vice-president candidate in 2007. As vice president, Jonathan took a very low profile, he was instrumental in negotiating an agreement with many of the major military groups in Niger Delta, who are mostly his fellow ijaws to lay down there weapons and stop fighting as part of the government amnesty. It has being suggested that Nigerian's many groups of power-brokers agreed to let Jonathan formally became the Nigeria Acting president after the death of Yar'adua.

For the most part, Let's view the Legacy given to the Nigeria youths under the regime of  Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, as one of the worst  possible leader to have serve as a Nigeria president. He is viewed to have being a corrupt, incompetent leader, with lack of vision who fail 90% of the Nigerians and he's unable to compromise or accept a political reality at odds with his own ideas.
He was expected to be the every man, the leader who understood your problems and had the power and wisdom to do something about it. this was at the heart of the Nigeria citizens and his opposition parties before he became the Nigeria president. But the legacies he left behind for the Nigerian youths after his administration are bad legacies that really failed the youths in many ways Such as; Legacy of Corruptions, Incompetence in office, Mismanagement, embezzlement, Failed promises, Piracy, Kidnapping, Fraud, Oil theft, Educations, Electricity generation, Effect on foreign relations, Effect on Economy and Effect on Health issues.

We all know corruption has been routine since the collapse of the Nigeria first republic in 1966, Mr Jonathan ruled Nigeria for good six years, but his regime has brought big failure and waste of time to Nigeria and it's people whereby 80% of Nigerian's are really disappointed. Corruption flourish under the Jonathan administration, Large sum of money has being spent improperly, There are several corruption scandals under Jonathan administration, some cases are remain unsolved till today while some cases are not investigate.
* Stella Oduah N255 Million Bullet Proof Car Purchase (the case on the corruption scandal was Unsolved till today)
 * NNPC missing $20 Billion USD ( case was investigated and $1.48 billion was recovered while remaining $2 Million was in some politicians account)
* The $6 Billion fuel subsidy scam ( Case was investigated but nothing has being done at last)
* Former Minister Accused of mishandling $700 Million bridge project ( case was investigated but nothing was done to the report)
* $100 Million Kerosene subsidy scam ( case was not investigate and nothing was done to the corruption scandal).

'WOLE SHOYINKA'S LEGACY TO THE YOUTHS' (An icon selected for Nigerians not by Nigerians).

Think of the Nigeria Famous noble prize Wole Shoyinka, He is famous because he has being approved by the white power world to notable the Nigerians. Let's think of it, there is no one single notable European or American, that is notable by Nigerian approval or other African countries approval, and this should have cause serious concern among the youths and the Nigerian leaders. 90% Nigerians didn't pick Shoyinka as an icon; i didn't picked him myself, he was picked for us.

                                                                Wole Shoyinka

The icon is named and approved by the forces of oppression, he's a commodities in the system of capitalism. The likes of Shoyinka is a tools, which is moved into places to give authenticity to whatever beef the west has with Islam, Nigerian politicians, homosexuality etc. They have built up his bag of credentials so he has become iconized and sold off as authentic; even if Shoyinka make no sense in his words, show no impartiality, or serves no pan-African purpose. Shoyinka is a tool of control, of seeding agendas directly into Nigerian diaspora communities, a distraction, which has Fanon described as Black Skin, White mask. And even when he mean well, he is absolutely not qualified to speak, i always wonder to myself how he get high to speak so loud, he prefer to give career to the weaker one.
The real sad news is that  Our Nigeria icon (Shoyinka) is famous because of his loyalty to the White power structures. Shoyinka have a career of insulting other Nigerians and other Africans; as a result, he is the West go-to to give black approval to everything they need said, He do nine things wrong , and one thing right, and use that one thing to defend the nine things wrong.

'MR OLUSEGUN OBASANJO LEGACY'.

Some Nigerians are saying Olusegun Obasanjo is a Good leader He built roads,GSM network,Debt forgiveness,NAFDAC reform,Built Abuja National Stadium etc. But is not part of what a leader of a country is suppose to do?. Why are the Western-part of Nigeria so happy about the low achievement under Olusegun Obasanjo administration?. it's like praising a baker for making bread. But how good is the bread, how did you make 1 loaf a year? People do not know they take leadership to mean, he build factories, built roads, he still has a house in his village. They can not go beyond the spectacle because the very system they are voting for has not educated them in the issues pertinent to governance, and hence those issues and how they affect the lives of people are largely unknown.

The life of Obasanjo is an echo of his life after retirement 1st october 1979, Obasanjo whom one of his minister said could not boast of more than twenty thousand Naira in his bank account in 1999, today he's now one of the richest Nigeria former president . Obasanjo stupendous wealth is inversely proportional to the abject poverty that ravages Nigerians. He is reportedly worth N27 Billion in 2007, I guess this is from his savings of about the twenty thousand Naira in his account then. But how much is his Monthly salary for the 8year and where did this Billions come from? Mmmmm

                                               Olusegun Okikiola Aremu Obasanjo

Olusegun Okikiola Aremu Obasanjo is a  Nigeria Yoruba decent, a former Nigeria army general, he was born on March 5th 1937. Obasanjo was born in Ogun state and grew up in Owu Abeokuta. At age of 21, he enlisted in the Nigeria Army in 1958, He attended the 6-month short service commission tranning at Mons Officer Cadet school in Aldershot in England, and was thereafter commissioned as an officer in the Nigeria Army. He was also trained in India at the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and at the India army school of engineering.
For over four decades, Olusegun Obasanjo, in government or out of it, has strongly influenced Nigeria affairs and those of Africa generally. He had a remarkable career as a a military commander in Nigeria civil war  (1967-1970) and as head of state in both a military regime (1976-1979) and civilian government (1999-2007) after being blocked for a third presidential term.

The Obasanjo's legacy is a paradoxical one of both far-reaching reforms and anti-reformist actions. He ushered his country away from military rule. He was the first Nigerian leader to serve two full elected terms and to transfer power to an elected successor. Yet he also engineered an effort that would have enabled him and state governors to serve more than two consecutive terms. After this initiative was defeated on May 16, 2006, in a tense vote in the National Assembly, Obasanjo installed himself as “Chairman for Life” of the ruling People’s Democratic Party. Under his direction, the party ran roughshod over the 2007 elections— with disastrous results.
This contradictory pattern of governance by Obasanjo sheds light on the systemic obstacles that impede economic growth, democratization, and good governance in Nigeria today. Under Obasanjo, groundbreaking reform in the banking sector was accompanied by a privatization of government assets tainted by cronyism. Anti-corruption investigations appropriately removed from power some senior officials but at other times seemed instigated to protect allies and punish adversaries. Authorities conducted and publicised a major audit of the oil sector, but no one was held responsible for the financial discrepancies uncovered. And instead of Obasanjo’s tenure ending as a robust affirmation of Nigeria’s democratic accomplishments, the opposite occurred: His successor assumed the presidency after chaotic and dishonest elections.

For the most part, Let's view the Legacy given to the Nigeria youths under the Obasanjo Administration. Olusegun Okikiola Obasanjo has done more than any past or present ruler of Nigeria to destroy the country. During the Civil war, he commanded the Army's 3 marine commando division that took over Owerri, effectively bringing an end to the civil war. Although Obasanjo did not participated in the military coup of July 29th 1975, led by Murtala Mohammed, he supported it and he was named Muritala's deputy in the new government.  As a chief of staff of supreme plotters, led by the Army Col. Dimka marked Obasanjo,Muritala and other senior military personnel for assasination. Muritala was killed during the attempted coup, but Obasanjo excaped death. It's a matter of public secret that during the trial of Army Col. Dimka who led the assassination of General Muritala Mohammed, it was Obasanjo who reportedly arm-twisted Genenral Yakubu Danjuma no to try Ibrahim Babangida for his treachery against the nation for allowing Dimka to escape from the radia station. Yet, Obasanjo overlooked such an act against the nation.

In 1978, Obasanjo is the First Nigeria leader to borrow money from IMF (International Monetary Fund) when Nigeria still have about $50 Billion in foreign account. My question for this Ogun state man is what is the purpose for borrowing the money and what is the money for?.
As a human being, Obasanjo has had some of the rarest opportunities in public service anybody could get anywhere, which ordinarily should have been a springboard for great things where someone with an iota of humanity or decency. After a total of eight years as the head of state and Nigeria president, Obasanjo is only remembered today as a corrupt, lecherous and bloodthirsty tyrant who masqueraded as a democrat and sought at all cost to always impose his perverse will on the nation, even when its clearly detrimental to the nation Interest.

Obasanjo is the first Nigeria leader who destroyed Nigeria's secularism. He personally put sharia in the 1979 constitution without constitutional and against the wish of the constitutional drafting comittee which he himself put together under the chairman of Chief Rotimt Williams. ("what kind of sense his that"? "Animal sense") The effect of this treachery is still a pain in the for Nigeria stability up till today.  The Obasanjo Administration broke all known records in the flagrant abuse of human rights by sending troops to ODI AND ZAKI-BIAM where whole communities including women and children were wiped out. women were serially raped and brutally murdered; children where killed in cold blood. the communities were totslly razed to the ground with thousand of causalities. several other communities witnessed attacks and extra-judiciary killings from the security forces albeit on a smaller scale in the course of the Obasanjo administration. The police became particularly lawless and notorious to the extend that the execution of innocent people for N20 became routine. The obasanjo administration is even the worst ever in Nigeria.

'IBRAHIM BABANGIDA LEGACY'

Babangida was a Key player in most of the millitary coups in Nigeria ( july 1966, February 1976, December 1983, August 1985, December 1985 and April 1990). Babangida is a retired Nigeria Army General and also Nigeria president under military rule. He was born in 17th August 1941 in Minna (Niger State), and he ruled Nigeria from 27th August 1985 when he overthrew Major General Buhari in a coup Until his departure from office on 27th August 1993, having annulled the elections held on 12th june that year.
Ibrahim Babangida is also among the Richest African Leaders who can buy and get what ever he want, but he ruined many lives of Nigerian citizens to reach the position he is today.

Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida

Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida made himself Nigeria president, he ruled Nigeria with an iron fist, He has no respect for democracy; (Well what do you expect from an Animal with basic Education with little intelligence?). A leader who lack respect for worth of Human life, He killed Dele Giwa, Bola ige, Rewane, Abiola, Vatsa, Abacha and other respected journalists in the country and many respected military officers were assassinated by his machineries and he closed down Radio stations, Punch Newspapers, News magazines during his time. One thing i noticed about Babangida is that he enjoys taking Nigeria for a ride and believes that Nigerians are all fools. He started his government with deceit, he presented the Tunde Idiagbon government as evil because he want to use the opportunity to destroy documents relating to the NNPC's missing $2.8billion oil money, and punish all those involve in the unravelling of scam. politicians and critics, including Fela Anikulapo Kuti, notorious for clamouring for the exposure of the oil money rogue Minister of an earlier military epoch, were locked up without trial.
Idiagbon government affects politicians who looted the treasury under Shehu Shagari's government . But Babangida 8 years regime took Nigeria back to where it is now. He spent over N50 Billion on a transition to no where. Babangida has offer Nigerians during his eight years as a military head of state, the pack and introduction of structural adjustment programme drained the country and it leads the country to the direction it is today.

Babangida is as devilishly clever as he is ruthless, Toward the end of  or 1987, Babangida was given a "Strategic" award, by the Heritage Foundation, a US right wing front whose philosophy is total world domination, economically, politically and militarily. The few other people, who had received this award, include Henry Kissinger and the former NATO Commander, Alexander Haig, people who had gone out of their way and the risk of their lives to advance America’s interests. But till today, no Nigerian journalist or news organisation has ever ask or question the reason why the award was presented to Babangida, Nobody ask why there was an explosion of drug activities during Babangida regime this means our Journalist and News Organisations are truly on the right lane.
The American's dream was to make Babangida a long time dictator in Nigeria, Bababngida created the very problem Nigerians are suffering today. He never wanted to give up power for what he's getting out of it.

Nigeria is a great Nation full of Hope and opportunities, let this above mention leaders shows there youth how Nigeria was and how it is now..
